Inflammation of blood vessels in the skin, eye, and brain typifies the findings in this disorder. It can be due to an allergic reaction or an infection, or in association with another disorder such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, or Sjogren’s syndrome.
Diagnosis is made with a physical exam and lab tests to look for inflammation in the vascular system.
Methotrexate and prednisone are often used to treat this disorder.
