Dr. Sharmin joined the Physicians East Primary Care team on September 1, 2023.   She is located at the Arlington Blvd. location.

Dr. Sharmin received an Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates from Dhaka Medical College in Bangladesh with a Batchelor of Medicine and Surgery.   She completed her residency in internal medicine at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.   Her fellowship was completed at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York.   She was board certified in Internal Medicine, in 2011 and recertified in 2021, and in Geriatric Medicine, in 2013, and she received her NC State Medical License in 2015.

Dr. Sharmin worked as a clinical associate professor of internal medicine at Brody School of Medicine.  She worked as an attending physician at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, New York from 2012 to 2015.

Dr. Sharmin was recently involved in resident teaching and medical student teaching at the Brody School of Medicine.   She has a professional membership with the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Sharmin has two wonderful children.  She loves to travel and garden.
